About the Scholarship

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, in collaboration with the UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR), offers scholarships for a Master in Public Health or MSc in Applied Health Social Science with a focus on Implementation Research (IR).

This program aims to build expertise to address four major global health challenges:

  • Epidemics and outbreaks
  • Control and elimination of poverty diseases
  • The impact of climate change on health
  • Antimicrobial resistance.

Fellows will receive hands-on training in implementation research, a field that identifies barriers in health systems and develops effective solutions, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The program includes on-campus training in Accra, Ghana, and a dissertation project focused on IR in the context of infectious diseases of poverty.
